In many parts of Zambia, families do not have the means to feed their children regularly, and there are no government welfare programs as we know them in the United States. Without these safety nets, when there is no food at home, many families will send their kids out into the streets in the hopes they at least have a chance to find food by fending for themselves, whether by foraging, begging, stealing, or doing small jobs around the community if they can find them. It is a desperate situation, calling for whatever help we can offer.
While in Kabwe, we were providing meals to up to 25 kids at least 2 to 3 days per week. Please pray that we can continue to expand this ministry near our permanent mission location in the Mpongwe area to provide more meals, more hope, and share Christ’s love with more kids and families.
